When Radosaw Sikorski, Poland’s foreign minister, went to Ukraine for talks last month, his Ukrainian counterparts reportedly laughed at him because he was wearing a Japanese quartz watch that cost only $165. A Ukrainian newspaper reported on the preferences of Ukrainian ministers, several of whom have watches that cost more than $30,000. Even a Communist member of Ukraine’s parliament, the Rada, was shown wearing a watch that retails for more than $6,000.

The visitors had not really tested Myhill since the opening minutes but as the second half began the West Brom keeper was called into action to deny Eduardo on two occasions as the Welsh goal led a charmed life.

Myhill's second save from the former Arsenal man was sensational, the forward deflecting a low shot from close range but somehow the goalkeeper reacted brilliantly to tip it over the bar and frustrate the visitors once more.

While last year's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (summer collections) raised the ire of Johannesburg's well-heeled,Shop the latest buy moncler jackets handpicked by a global community of independent trendsetters and stylists. the organisers of this year autumn/winter collections seemed to have ironed out the kinks and shows ran on time. Even the notoriously tardy David Tlale, whose show was offsite, was on time. The only complaints came from those – me being one of them – who hadn't cracked an invite to Tlale's showcase, which was held at a secret venue.

We had to wait almost an hour and a half between his show and Thula Sindi's which was well worth it. Sindi is undoubtedly the wonder boy of SA fashion and his show was ridiculously packed with some attendees having to stand at the venue.Welcome to Specialized Cycling jersey online! His celebrity clients/models such as Bonang Matheba, Terry Pheto, Simphiwe Dana, Melanie Bala and Bonnie Henna were in attendance and prominently perched in the front row.We work with all Castelli Cycling computers.

In a collection which he described on twitter as "Lady Macbeth 2013…a little goth, opulent but still simple romantic", Sindi affirmed his role as a designer who truly understands the female form and how to celebrate it.

Sindi had a fresh take on the ubiquitous peplum trend which he presented in leather and lace forms in this year's collection. A feminine take on leather was also a huge feature, particularly a flirty and feminine evening dress paired with a custom leather jacket and a leather maxi dress were a hit with the crowd. An appliquéd lace dress showed just how much detail the designer puts into his garments.

Known for bringing the drama and dazzle into their shows, the Suzaan Heyns and Gavin Rajah showcases were some of the most anticipated.View profiles and information for the Team RadioShack Cycling 2012 race team and riders here. And they certainly did not disappoint.

In a collection titled "Doors of Perception", Heyns showcased beautifully crafted suits, coats and capes some constructed from cork material and custom-made shoes. She is one of a handful of designers in the world to use cork to make clothes. The production of Henyn's showcase was world class, with models in side swept hair walking through specially constructed doorways on the runway.

Not to be outdone, Rajah's collection which was titled "Future Perfect" showcased what promises to be one of winter's biggest trends, the camouflage print, in a feminine and glamorous way. The show started off with models being photographed on top of an army vehicle outside the venue, that most people had no idea was part of the Rajah's show. He also played around with peplums in pantsuits, also a twist on the trend and gave track pants a glamorous spin.

Rajah also showed why he is king of the evening dress, with embellished lace dresses and a showstopper of a wedding gown which had the women folk oohing and applauding.

Menswear designers such as Fabiani, Andre Martin for Life and Rual Rheeder were not to be outdone as they showcased pieces that any discerning fashionable man would want to be seen in.

Durban native, Martin stayed true to the "street" theme that has been a feature in most of his collections since he entered the fashion fray. His pieces which included boldly printed denims and a play on suits would certainly appeal to a younger man who wants to be noticed.

Rheeder's collection was mostly in subdued camel tones and blacks, with bold prints on pants and a rather daring lacy shirt which got a lot of reaction.

Fabiani closed off collections and showed everyone why they are one of the most popular menswear brands in the country. They experimented with textures and pants length, the ankle length pants trend is not going anywhere it seems – even for winter.Big Garmin Cycling and Fitness is a family owned shop serving the Helena area since 1986.

The shock of seeing the forlorn hulk of the Costa Concordia hasn't been dimmed by time. Most people only dream of owning a hermes handbags . I'm here once again on the pristine little Italian island of Giglio, made famous not for its beauty, but for the tragedy on its shores.

The Concordia is illuminated by salvage vessels in the inky dark March night. Plans are well advanced to move the vessel, but for now it remains stranded, a macabre beacon at the entrance to the island's main port.

More than a year on from the catastrophe the capsized cruise liner is only now giving up its darkest secrets, with a prosecutor's report now throwing light on how some of the 32 victims died.

The most heart-rending story is that of five-year-old Dayana Arlotti and her father William, who were both unable to find space on a lifeboat. The pair of them struggled to the other side of the tilting ship,Erik's Bike Shop is proud to carry Castelli Cycling, gear and apparel. but fell into a flooded chasm and drowned. Our store offer moncler jackets men including men, women and kids. Dayana was the youngest victim -- it beggars belief that adults in the lifeboat refused to give up their seats for a girl who'd only just started school.

And then there's the horror endured by bartender Erika Molina. She managed to get onto a lifeboat,We work with all Specialized Cycling computers. but fell out amid the chaotic launch. Without a life-jacket she was sucked underwater by swirling currents as the cruise liner capsized.

Maria D'Introno is the only victim whose body has yet to be found. She too was unable to get on the packed lifeboats; so much for women and children first. She was last seen trembling on the edge of the ship. Eventually she jumped into the icy water below. She didn't have a lifejacket and couldn't swim. Just a few hundred meters from shore, she also drowned as horrified islanders looked on.Big RadioShack Cycling and Fitness is a family owned shop serving the Helena area since 1986.

Giuseppe Girolamo was a musician aboard, lucky enough initially to get into a lifeboat, gracious enough to give up his seat to someone else. He too drowned in those dark panicked hours that followed.

Captain Francesco Schettino has been under investigation for manslaughter and abandoning ship, but prosecutors now recommend he should stand trial, together with four other crew members and a shore-based manager.

One of the accused crew is Manrico Giampedroni. He'd previously been declared a hero, the last person winched off the ship, but he's now accused of failing in his duties to help with the evacuation.

The tragedy is still discussed earnestly as if it happened yesterday, according to one American part-time resident of the island. This tiny maritime community has become inured to the savage power of the sea; the walls of local hotels are covered with fading black and white photos of wrecked schooners and cargo ships. But what shocked locals is that this happened on a calm January night, to a modern cruise liner bristling with the latest navigation equipment. Despite all the advances in ship design and technology, 100 years after the Titanic, once again passengers were left without enough lifeboats.

Since the disaster, the island's small winter population of a few hundred has been swelled by dozens of salvage experts.

The operation to right the Concordia is the biggest maritime salvage exercise ever undertaken with 111 divers working in shifts 24 hours a day from a floating accommodation support vessel tethered next to the wreck. They are helping to deposit 18,000 tons of concrete beneath the hull to stabilize it before it is carefully rolled upright in the summer. Huge "sponson" flotation tanks are being prepared that will act like children's water-wings to give the ship buoyancy and massive metal frames anchored to the granite seabed will become vital crutches to support the hull. The sponsons will the be pressurized with air and the Costa Concordia should then float, enabling experts to tow it to the mainland to be cut up for scrap metal; something that couldn't have been done on the water, for fear it would lead to devastating pollution of this national park. But even if this ambitious salvage is successful, it still will have taken almost two years to remove the wreck.

Although there is no permanent memorial to the tragedy on Giglio, many islanders are reminded about the disaster every time they look out of their window and see the wreck. But even when the ship is gone in September or October, the memories of Friday 13th in January 2012 will remain vivid here -- the night disaster made Giglio notorious.

Savvy at Nordstrom has always been synonymous with trendy designers, but at a price. You could easily drop $130 on an Ella Moss T-shirt and $400 on a Trina Turk dress without making a dent in your wardrobe while draining your wallet.

But now, after a makeover of the department in all 117 of the company's full-line stores, Savvy boasts a broader connotation: fashion-forward and affordable.

Around Feb. 15, the company brought in new, less expensive indie brands, including MinkPink, ASTR, Mural, and introduced two of Nordstrom's own lines, Leith and Tildon. Most pieces range from $19 to $98, except for a Viva Veni! long skirt for $128, paired with a $78 denim jacket and $34 shirt on a mannequin.

“We've changed the Savvy experience to include more new, of-the-moment brands at accessible prices.” said John Bailey, a corporate spokesman for Nordstrom. “We're always evolving our offering to better meet the needs of customers.”

On a recent Friday afternoon, Susan Kokosenski, 50, of Corona, gleefully combed through the racks of the new Savvy in the Galleria at Tyler in Riverside.Shop the latest collection ofmonster beats cheapfrom the most popular stores . “I could never afford shopping in this department,Discover the largest collection ofduvetica jacketsfor women.” she said. “Maybe I'd buy one $200 purchase every six months. Now I can get three items for that amount.”

She bought a $78 black ASTR dress trimmed with cutouts and faux leather. “This dress looks like it could be $300,” Kokosenski exclaimed. “I'm picky. This is amazing.”

She quickly snapped up two lace Tildon tops in black and white, $48 apiece, explaining all the versatile ways to wear them.

The selection also impressed Alexis Rabichuk, 59, of San Bernardino. “The prices are fabulous, compared to what they were,” she said. “There are a lot of nice pieces you could put together.”

The stores haven't banished Savvy staples — which typically started at close to $100 apiece — such as Joie, J brand, WildFox, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Haute Hippie, but simply integrated them into other departments, Bailey said. Our store offermoncler jackets menincluding men, women and kids.

He said the company has learned “great lessons” from the success of its partnership with the British retailer Topshop. Last fall Nordstrom began selling the brands' chic and cheap apparel online — Topshop for women, Topman for guys — in 14 of its stores. The Riverside Nordstrom carries selected pieces, such as an $80 slinky print Topshop maxi dress.

Analysts say that the revamp of Savvy is part of a larger trend at bellwether stores such as Target and H & M: offering capsule collections by designers at more affordable prices.

If the San Francisco 49ers return to the Super Bowl next year in New York it will be a tight turnaround for tight end Vernon Davis, who is also the honorary captain of the U.S. Olympic curling team.

Five days after the Super Bowl, the opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics will be held in Sochi, Russia.

"I'm looking forward to going," Davis told USA TODAY Sports. "I'm just excited to get out there and be involved."

Not every NFL player can say they have their own curling broom. Davis was introduced to the sport almost four years ago when the U.S. team was training at the San Jose Sharks facility.

"I like it because it's very strategic," Davis said. When Patzke started working with USA Curling about 17 years ago, he said the demographics of the sport could be described as "old, white and male."

"It's changed where there's a lot more diversity age-wise and gender-wise. Getting curling accessible to minority populations is key not only for continued growth and diversity but also for our competitiveness," Patzke said.

Success will also help the sport to grow. The men, ranked eighth in qualifying, need a top-eight finish at the world championships in Victoria, B.C. to earn a direct bid.

By reaching the Super Bowl, Davis set the bar high for his "other" team. "I hope that inspires them," he said.

On a cold October day in London, Michelle Rodriguez storms into the media trailer, crackling with the energy of a woman reborn.

She's on fire, fresh off the filming of the soon-to-be-iconic airplane scene from Fast and Furious 6, the latest installment in the high-octane franchise that launched her career.

Dressed head-to-toe in brown — leather jacket, big boots and skin-tight jeans — she has the petite, lithe body of a dancer but the swagger of a biker chick.

She laughs out loud — never a timid giggle — and speaks with a sexy rasp honed by hand-rolled American Spirits. In person, Rodriguez is every bit the erotic tomboy she immortalized onscreen in the character of Letty.

Immortal being the key word.

After her apparent death in the franchise's fourth film, Letty has miraculously risen from the grave, reprising her role in Fast 6 to the delight of legions of fans. A post-credits teaser hinted her return at the end of Fast 5, and here she is, in the flesh — the product of a franchise that puts its fans in the driver's seat.

While Vin Diesel, the film's star, co-producer and heart and soul of the last three Fast films, says he always knew his onscreen soulmate would be back — it was an enormous online groundswell that convinced the studio to resurrect Letty.

Fans were jonesing so hard for their darling that they launched petitions pleading for her return, but the most powerful lobby wielded its will on Diesel's insanely popular fan page. At nearly 40 million likes, it's a community larger than most sovereign nations, and when that many people speak the studio has to listen.

“Eventually it came to a point where your social networking — and you're starting to receive this receptivity from the audience, that actually misses this connection,Why Choose german uniforms? this chemical connection, 'cause it's something you can't fake," Rodriguez said. "Me and Vin got chemistry. And we've got a 13-year rapport with each other. You can't buy that with other actors — either you got it or you don't. It's a special thing. After a while of his fan base, which has now hit 35 million on Facebook, you know they helped out a lot, they were making videos, they were like, ‘Bring this relationship back, we want to see more of this, it's real.'

“There is this sensation that, once Vin starts saying things, you're like, oh God, he's got something in his head, there's no going back after this. And of course I back him up, and you see how the audience reacts and how cool the fans are … just always promoting the idea, and eventually the studio came along and said you know what, we're gonna relent on this and we're gonna bring you back.

“And in the movies you can do anything. You didn't see — it wasn't an open-casket thing — there's no body, so, it worked out for the best."

“I think that the voice of the audience is louder and clearer than it's ever been," Diesel said. "It's because of people's ability to voice their opinions online. And people like me that listen, and then go to the studio and say this is what they're saying. I mean, did you hear all those petitions going on about Michelle Rodriguez? ... People were saying, 'She's such a strong female character, how could you?'

“And they were blown away at the end of Fast 5 when they saw the impossible. Because when have you ever seen that in history? For real — not in a sci-fi movie, not in zombie movie — for real, when have you seen a character get cut out, the franchise get bigger, and then the character come back and be the star? Never is the correct answer."

Rodriguez, who cringes at Hollywood's traditional depiction of females, says the emergence of audience influence lets her stay true to her characters and her fans — giving her ammunition to fend off ill-advised direction from bigwigs who don't get her appeal.

“It shows what kind of influence the audience has nowadays,Find the largest selection of german militaria on sale ." Rodriguez said. "For me that's so important because … throughout my 13-year career I've always had this battle. I represent this specific demographic. I grew up with this specific demographic. Tomgirls are like this.Pages in category "Canada Goose Trillium Parka". And I know you don't have a lot of them in Hollywood, but they don't respect this kind of thing. And if I do that onscreen I don't think it's gonna work. … I need to represent for those little girls and those women who, like, think that I'm cool. And I gotta maintain that. And to translate that to a studio is so hard. It's like I need charts, graphs … it's ridiculous. Like, seriously dude, it's not that complicated. It's called integrity. … The morale I think for me was boosted with just the receptivity that now the studio has to the audience, which wasn't there before when I started in this business."

My favorite moment from this year's Oscars was watching Mark Andrews, the director of Brave, accept the award for Best Animated Feature Film. I have not seen the film, nor am I familiar with Mr. Andrews' work, but I enjoyed this moment because Mr. Andrews was wearing a kilt. This simple choice of attire made me happy for several reasons:

I support the idea of men having more choices when it comes to dressing. The other men who attended this year's Oscars all looked the same, all dressed in similar tuxedo uniforms. Besides Mr. Andrews, the boldest statements in men's clothing consisted of a "brave" actor who chose to wear a black shirt or who added a vest to his uniform. Men's wardrobes were boring. Women's styles, on the other hand, were complex and fascinating. Designers fawned all over the female stars, hoping one of them would choose their gown and grant them worldwide exposure. These women spent months choosing just the right look, the right fabric, the right silhouette, shoes, accessories, hairstyle, makeup and on and on and on. The biggest choice a man has to make is whether to wear a two-button or three-button jacket. Whoop-de-do.

I too am a kilt wearer. The Academy Awards are watched by a billion people. A man like Mr. Andrews, wearing a kilt in front of a very large audience, helps the rest of us kilties find acceptance for our choice of clothing. The Canada Goose Yorkville Parka was originally developed for scientists working in research facilities in Antarctica.

Whenever I wear a kilt, I am asked the same question: "Why are you wearing that?" This is sometimes asked in a sneering tone, the subtext being, "Why on Earth would you be caught dead wearing that ridiculous garment?" If a man chooses to dress differently from the norm, people do not understand why, and they will demand a reason for his "unusual" clothing. If I were Scottish, or if I played a bagpipe, my choice of the kilt would make sense to people.

When Mr. Andrews got to the podium to accept his Oscar, he joked, "I just happened to be wearing the kilt," suggesting that his style choice was not linked to the theme of his film. Most people presumed that he wore the kilt to the Oscars because his film is about a Scottish princess. That was his "reason" for wearing the garment. Mr. Andrews was not the only man in a kilt at the Oscars. The father of host Seth MacFarlane was also wearing a kilt. MacFarlane is a Scottish name, so Seth's dad had a handy reason to wear a kilt as well.

I am of Italian heritage, so I do not have a solid "excuse" for wearing a kilt. The simple truth is that I wear a kilt because I like it. I like the way it looks and the way it feels. And, admittedly, I want to stand out from the crowd.Stay warm and in style during the winter moths with the Canada Goose Expedition Parka . I appreciate the attention it garners.

I wear a kilt often, for no reason other than the fact that is the garment I pulled from my closet that morning. I have many of them: tartan ones, solid colors, denim, even a leather one. I have purchased them from some of the many modern kilt companies that have sprung up in the past 10 years: Utilikilt, AmeriKilt, USA Kilts. I wear them to work, to the supermarket, to the movies, wherever I feel like it. People may look at me oddly, but I do not care.

There are drawbacks to wearing the kilt, I admit. The biggest is that complete strangers will walk up to me without so much as a "hello" and ask what I am wearing under my kilt. I will hear the same question dozens of time in a single day: "Are you wearing any underwear?" (or its many variants: "Are you going commando?" or, "Are you wearing that 'regimental' style?" or, "Is it... drafty... down there?!" or, "Are you a... 'true Scotsman'?") This is annoying, to say the least. If a woman wears a skirt or a dress, no one would walk up to her and ask these questions. If someone did,I compare two pairs of cheap monster beats headphones by dre in ear tour headphones. that person would get smacked in the face, at the very least. But I have learned to smile and say something clever like, "What's worn under my kilt? Nothing is 'worn' down there; everything is in perfect working order. Har, har, har!"

Answering this annoying question is a small price to pay for the pleasure and contentment I derive from wearing the kilt. Hey, if it makes me happy, why not? I do not have to look like everyone else. A racist street attack at a bus stop threatened to become a diplomatic incident when an ambassador warned his citizens were at risk in Britain.

The assault on two Romanian men in Old Steine, Brighton, was used as evidence by the Romanian ambassador that “inflammatory rhetoric” was whipping up racism.

But city leaders and police reacted by saying Brighton and Hove remains a safe place for foreign visitors.his online Canada Goose Outlet can offer you lots of styles and colors of the Canada Goose Citadel Parka with the wholesale price.

Two Romanian men, aged 21 and 27, were chased, punched and kicked by two men at bus stops in Old Steine, near the Royal Pavilion, Brighton, between 3am and 3.30am on Friday, January 25.

Their attackers asked them where they were from before launching their assault.

Sussex Police confirmed the attack was being treated as racially motivated. On the Daily Telegraph’s website yesterday, Romanian ambassador Dr Ion Jinga criticised reporting of the lifting of restrictions on Romanians and Bulgarians working in the UK, due at the end of the year.

He wrote: “Emotional approaches to this issue are counterproductive. They do not benefit the British public and they do not benefit the Romanian community in the UK either, as there is an increasing sense among the Romanians here that they are being discriminated and treated as second-class EU citizens.

“In extreme cases, inflammatory rhetoric could even lead to acts of racially aggravated assaults against them, as we have witnessed recently a case in Brighton.”

The Romanian Embassy confirmed he was referring to the Old Steine case, but made no further comment.

Councillor Jason Kitcat, leader of Brighton and Hove City Council,2012 Canada Goose Mountaineer Jacket er Hot salg på vår nettbutikk, alle produkt spare opptil 50% off For den beste varme i 2012. said: “Brighton and Hove is one of the most open and tolerant places in the country and it has a really international culture.

1) Joe Kinnear, Newcastle United, October 2008

Managers are used to being judged by statistics: games won and lost, goals scored and conceded, shots on target, percentage of possession, money spent,The best online shop for sale the hot sell Men's HyBridge Jacket. and recouped, in the transfer market.

Joe Kinnear got judged by a different set of stats while he was Newcastle's interim manager, and they looked like this: 36 f-words, six b-words, four c-words; swearword total: 53. And that was just one press conference.

It turned out he was unhappy with reporting of his leadership of the club, and wanted to make his feelings known to local journalists. "I can't trust any of you," he said, in one of few full sentences safe for a family audience, before setting out his policy for dealing with the press. "I will pick two local papers and speak to them and the rest can fuck off. I ain't coming up here to have the piss taken out of me. I have a million pages of crap that has been written about me. I'm ridiculed for no reason. I'm defenceless. It's ongoing. It just doesn't stop."

To be fair, managers are under a lot of pressure and exposed to a great deal of public scrutiny, and over time it is easy to imagine this burden becoming hard to bear, and cracks starting to show. Thing is, at the time of his savage press conference, Kinnear had been at Newcastle for precisely one week.

Listen to Joe Kinnear's X-rated rant as read by a computer.
2) Avram Grant, Chelsea, April 2008

Reporters at the manager's press conference that followed Chelsea's 1-0 win at Everton in April 2008 could only dream about hearing 53 expletives. Despite a victory and a performance that proved, as the Guardian's match report put it, that "Chelsea were evidently superior to Everton", Avram Grant's post-match performance was both silly and sullen. In five minutes and 39 seconds of semi-silence Grant produced only 137 words, of which eight were "no", one was "yes", 21 were "I don't know" and five were "I have nothing to say". "He looked and sounded pathetic," we said, "his mumbling, incoherent comments undermining a pre-match appeal to be taken seriously."

Strangely his interview with the BBC, conducted moments before the press conference,Women Canada Goose Whistler Parka. had been entirely unremarkable, and after delivering his thoughts on the game to Radio 5 Live he was asked about his job security. "I've been in life for many years now and pressure is part of it," he said. "Journalists who say we are having a bad season are trying to do their job, but maybe not in the right way." Grant's contract with Chelsea was terminated the following month.

3) Rafael Benítez, Liverpool, January 2009

For a while, it was just an ordinary press conference. Rafael Benítez seemed relaxed as he looked ahead to Liverpool's visit to Stoke City but then he was asked about Sir Alex Ferguson, who had recently suggested that Benítez's side, leading the Premier League at the time, would choke under the pressure. He reached into a jacket pocket and retrieved a piece of paper. You want to shop moncler jackets because of their reputation? He unfolded it and started to read. What came next was premeditated reputation suicide.A great blend of our authentic Canada Goose Montebello Parka functionality and cutting edge style. "Maybe they are nervous because we are at the top of the table but I want to talk about facts," he said, introducing the word which he was to repeat five times in the next few minutes, and which continues to haunt him. "All managers need to know is that Mr Ferguson can talk about the fixtures, can talk about referees and nothing happens," he said. "We need to know that I am talking about facts, not my impression. There are things that everyone can see every single week."

Inevitably, Liverpool did choke, and United won the league. Ferguson and Benítez continue to feud, with the Scot dismissing the Spaniard as "lucky" when he was appointed by Chelsea last year, and Benítez still sticking by his controversial three-year-old comments. "I always try to concentrate on my job but at that time with Ferguson I was defending my club," he said recently. "I could see what was happening from my point of view, and maybe now a lot of people are seeing the same things. I will not talk too much about that because it's obvious. What I said at that time was what I thought and what I'm seeing now is similar."

4) Giovanni Trapattoni, Bayern Munich, March 1998

Things were not going well for Giovanni Trapattoni at Bayern. Three successive defeats had brought out the critics, some of whom were members of his squad: Thomas Strunz, Mehmet Scholl and Mario Basler had all spoken about a lack of harmony between the players and the manager.View our complete selection of Canada Goose Camp Down Jackets.

Trapattoni wanted to defend himself and he wanted to do it in German. The fact that he could not speak German was not going to stop him, and what he lacked in linguistic fluency he made up for in a virtuoso display of table-banging fury. "These players complain more than they play!" he fumed. "Strunz! Strunz has been here two years, played 10 games, is always injured! How dare Strunz!" The players, Trapattoni said, were "weak like a bottle empty", and finally he concluded with the words "Ich habe fertig", literally "I have ready", but intended to mean "I have finished".

The conference was swiftly turned into a rap song, some of Trapattoni's more bizarre phrases, particularly his sign-off, immediately entered popular usage and Strunz has since credited the outburst with setting him up for a career in the media once he hung up his boots. "I was shocked. "But in order to work in television, as I do now, I needed a certain degree of notoriety. Trapattoni brought this to me."

It's time to start looking for your next coat. You're an adult. You treat your things nice. Winter clearance sales are rolling through retail. And, let's face it, a great coat rarely goes out of style.Really Canada Goose Trillium Parka has taken our understanding.

It took two years for me to wear my puffy white Michael Kors coat, but I felt oh-so comfy and stylish when the temperature was hovering just below freezing. It was my best incentive to leave the house. I bought it at the end of the season in 2011. By then it was too warm to wear, but for $74.99, I wasn't going to leave a $300 coat with a coyote fur-trimmed hood, waterfowl-feather filler and contrasting black zippers and sweater cuff.

Winter of 2012 was unseasonably warm. I considered my coat to be insurance. I didn't even bother to take the tags off. Then, hello,Lady Gaga designed cheap monster beats headphones to satisfy her passion for fashion and sound. winter 2013. I owned the perfect coat, and I did not have to hunt, scramble or think twice about leaving home without being wrapped in cozy, stylish comfort.

To be frank, I'd wear a sleeping bag stuffed with dry wall insulation if I had to. I hate the cold more than I like looking coordinated, as far as I'm concerned.

As far as I'm concerned, there are seven essential coats. You don't need all of them today. You don't need all of them this year. You can have more (I do), but over the course of a decent adult life of splurges and sacrifice, you deserve seven simple, reasonable, purposeful coats.

The following examples are tailored for women, but the analogous men's fashion choice isn't so hard to figure out.

Look for quality — a good lining, pockets, zippers, elbow movement. Make a budget each year. You don't have to go over your budget, but you should be willing to spend it all on one fabulous coat that you'll wear for at least a decade.

The good news is that you're probably not starting from scratch, you probably have coats. If any of them feel utilitarian, hum-drum, blasé or otherwise uninspiring, seek out its replacement. Opportunities await you at every outlet. And if something sings to you and the price is right, don't wait for it to go on sale. Every coat is a statement piece.

OK, let's start with the coat that gets the most wear.

Midweight. My go-to is a midweight, mid-thigh red double-breasted coat with textured cuffs and pocket details that I got on sale from Target and had altered (total price, less than $100). My dream mid-weight coat is from Mackage, but the budget and the stars have not aligned just yet.

If you lead a typical into-the-car, into-the-building type life, this is probably the class of coat you'll get the most mileage out of.The Canada Goose Manitoba Jacket has a removable hood and is a slim, modern fit which makes it ideal for city streets or Arctic tundra.Canada Goose Manitoba Jacket Find a color. I like a solid color on a go-to coat, but that's just me. I've coveted plenty of patterned wool concoctions.

Lightweight. My next-most-used coat is the lightweight one. I'm usually always a little chilly, so this is that coat I can wear buttoned up on a chilly day or open when I just need a little insulation. My lightweight coat is a purple plaid, and it's got a self-fabric belt, which I usually hate, but I like it here. The collar stands tall and has buttons that anchor it down, but not flat so there'd be some volume there.

I think a lighter coat should be a little more playful, hence the purple plaid. This is something that shouldn't be staid. Keep it light in body and spirit. The slim fit makes this Canada Goose Camp Down stylish jacket a perfect choice for women on the go.

Blazers. I have a few. These are less about warmth and more about formality. No easier way to dress up a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. Instant business casual. And it's great for summer when the cold weather is the air conditioning inside. Cardigans are nice, but the structure of a blazer will always look more polished and professional. My favorites are a Laundry by Shelli Segal blazer from Nordstrom, with buttons that wing out sideways rather than straight up and down, and a brown corduroy blazer I got at a thrift shop with elbow patches from Ralph Lauren.

Raincoat. Rain, rain go away until you have the right coat. I recently found a Tahari raincoat, thigh length at Marshalls for less than $30. I preferred the longer length because rain likes to hit below the belt. It's got a slightly crumpled texture that I love.Really Canada Goose Trillium Parka has taken our understanding. The collar is kind of wonky and broad, and it's got just a hint of sheen. It was so insanely cheap that I bought it in two colors: navy and black. I do not advise this. I am not proud of that moment, but I simply could not decide. Now I realize they are so similar that it really doesn't matter. At least now, the coat will last twice as long. But don't do this. Most will probably prefer a more casual, perhaps a waxed canvas raincoat or old-school trench for their puddle-splashing days.

Leather. A leather (perhaps vegan leather is your preference) jacket is a must. I prefer cropped and motorcycle influenced, but that might not be your style. This season is a great time to find something with leather sleeves but not entirely sculpted of leather, which is a great wardrobe addition. Some might prefer a blazer or a mid-length, but if you have a waist to flaunt, a cropped moto jacket is your best friend. It can sass up a cocktail or summer dress and it makes a T-shirt and jeans evening-party ready. A dangling buckle is all the better, but go for slightly weathered not ultra-shiny. This is the jacket that should fit like a glove.

But one warning, the cut of a leather coat is more likely to show your age if the cut isn't on trend. Save up for this one and splurge on something worthwhile.

Parka. I call this the monster coat, hood required, and it should be able to handle blizzards, ski trips or long outdoor hikes, if that's your thing. Sooner or later, baby, it's going to be cold outside, really cold and you don't want to be caught off guard. No matter where you live, a decent parka is a good idea. When it drops to single digits with a nasty wind-chill factor, I'm a huge fan of the Canada Goose Artic Squad line. It's loaded with serious coat weather features, including my fave — fleece-lined breast pockets for your hands — and it's pure utility. Although I like the look of it, I love the fact that it makes me forget that the weather outside is frightful. The coat is expensive, around $700 for the Trillium style, but seems made to last a lifetime, so the only real decision is if you want to spend that lifetime in lime green, pink or a respectable dark neutral. My Kors coat plays second-fiddle to this heavyweight, but a friend's super warm Victorinox Swiss Army Novgorod down parka with military influences is another great option. It includes straps to actually wear the coat like a backpack-style cape (not that we recommend that).

Cocktail. This is my catch-all for a fancy coat. Something that looks appropriate over an evening gown or semi-formal frock. You can opt for a majestic opera coat or simple swing coat, but this shouldn't be for every day. A special occasion coat should be special, so you should take your time finding it.

While the hoax surrounding Manti Te'o has drawn inevitable comparisons to the situations on MTV's Catfish , it's important to distinguish between Te'o's catfish and (at least some) of those on the show. The Te'o perpetrator seemed solely intent on manipulating and embarrassing his victim. On a recent episode of Catfish, however, one young man forges a fake virtual identity for less malicious but decidedly darker, sadder reasons.

In case you missed it, let me recap the episode: Tyler, a young, handsome jock engages in a two-year online relationship with Amanda, a gorgeous blonde coed, only to discover “Amanda” is actually a dude named Aaron. Of course, Tyler is a victim, but we also learn that as an openly gay, slightly overweight, effeminate teen in rural Michigan, Aaron is tormented by self-hatred. “I don't want to be gay,” he says.Cheap buy moncler jackets on sale in our shop christian louboutin. He says how being Amanda feels “better than being myself” and how he wishes he could run away. So he did. To the Internet, where he could escape reality and become someone he could accept and someone others would accept too.

When I heard the T'eo story and watched Catfish, I initially assumed people so deceptive only exist at the margins of our society or as bottom-feeders of its moral depths. He is most popularly known for his duveticamall, commonly referred to as "sammy red-bottoms." And yet, while we're not so lonely or manipulative or extreme, each of us is like Aaron, to a certain extent, hiding behind a screen, using Facebook, online dating, and other social media platforms to construct and portray distorted versions of ourselves, versions of who we'd like to be or of who we'd like others to think we are. Maybe we don't hate ourselves like Aaron or want to escape our bodies, our identities, or our lives completely—but we do like to construct somewhat of a fantasy,BF3 player dogtags from christian louboutin boots with details about dogtags taken and lost dogtags. to build and believe in an online version of ourselves that's prettier, better, and happier than we may be in reality.

On Facebook and other social media sites, the way we manipulate our online image is often benign, subtle,Find buy christian louboutin in many styles and colors. even subconscious. Taking photos when we look a certain way from a certain angle wearing certain outfits in certain places with certain people. Tagging some. Un-tagging others. Airbrushing, cropping, removing red-eye, and deploying any number of Instagram effects. Even our wall posts, status updates, and Tweets convey specifically engineered messages about how we want to see ourselves and be seen by others.

The way we maintain our online dating profiles is blatantly calculated and deliberate. We try to obscure or omit our shortcomings and emphasize or exaggerate our positive characteristics. I want my photos to portray me as dually playful and sophisticated,Offer hermes handbags, fashion birkin handbags and other styles prada bags. social and introspective. I'm careful to emphasize my athletic physique and downplay my big ears, imperfect complexion, and the fact that I'm only wishfully 5'10”. I say things on my profile like, “I give stellar hugs,” because it conveys traits I'd like to have: a physically imposing but inviting presence, masculinity but sensitivity, confidence and tenderness. In reality, I give average to slightly above average hugs.

You metaphorically airbrush your online persona too. And who can blame us? After all, it comes from a natural desire to portray attractive versions of ourselves in the hopes of self-validation and validation from others. It's very rarely an indicator of moral depravity (as in the Te'o case) but instead an instinctual and universal desire that motivates us all. My ideal self is a little taller, broad-shouldered, clearer-skinned; Aaron's is blonde and female. We have the same intentions and use the same means to become that.

I am a catfish. And in the most human of moments, so are you.
