Tiger Woods said Thursday his left Achilles tendon injury will not keep him from playing in the Masters in April.
"I'll be there. Don't worry about it," Woods said during an appearance on Good Morning America. "I took a few days off. I'll start hitting balls tomorrow. The stiffness is gone. Hopefully, I'll be ready next week."
Woods had scheduled to play in next week's Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, which would be his final start before the Masters. He has won four green jackets, the last in 2005.
The former world No. 1 withdrew on the 12th hole in the final round of last week's World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship at Doral Resort & Spa north of Miami. He issued a statement later saying his Achilles was sore. On Tuesday, he tweeted that doctors told him it was a mild strain.
Appearing later on The Scott Van Pelt Show on ESPN Radio, Woods said he withdrew from the Cadillac Championship mostly as a precaution, because he did not want to miss the Masters.
