Fall's 2013 collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week proved that the days of head-to-toe gypsies, bohemians, rockers and "Dynasty" divas (sorry, Joan Collins) are passe. Next fall's trends are about major movements in silhouette, color and, most important, fabric.2012 Canada Goose Mountaineer Jacket er Hot salg på vår nettbutikk, alle produkt spare opptil 50% off For den beste varme i 2012.
That's the consensus - and welcomed rethinking - among designers at Lincoln Center, site of the shows Feb. 7 to 14 that had more than 100,000 guests desperately seeking what's coming next when it seems that everything is already here.
"I don't really think about trends," said Vivienne Tam. "I think about what I personally want to wear next season, what colors and textures I am feeling."
Jenni Kayne agreed that all women really want "is something they can wear - classic and feminine but not trendy."
Added Tom Mora of J. Crew: "Fall is more about items and how you put them together for a modern, new look - clothes that you want to become your new classics, not throwaway trends."
By now, most women have a lock on their personal style and are not about to adopt a trendy new identity.
For next fall, all they'll need to know is that color is deepening, enuine Canada Goose Manitoba Jacket. jacket has never been worn. shape is being redefined and fabric, above all, is at the forefront of fashion's material shift.
Six months from now, color will lean toward rich, regal and dark shades of oxblood (Kenneth Cole and Jill Stuart), evergreen (Carolina Herrera and Monique Lhuillier), teal (Oscar de la Renta and Tracy Reese), violet (Ralph Rucci), charcoal and gray (BCBG and Nicholas K) and, of course, lots of eternal black (Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and, as always, Donna Karan).
Still trending are a few of spring's forthcoming Technicolor brights: fuchsia, red and chartreuse.
The leaders of the fashion pack also are starting to shake up and reshape silhouettes. Shoulders are the biggest news. They are bigger but not padded (sorry again, Joan).
Instead, they're softly rounded into a blown-up curve that extends beyond the actual shoulder (think of a lightbulb). Lacoste, Rebecca Minkoff and others sent out this embryonic shape. But it was Ralph Rucci, a master of precise tailoring, who executed it with authority, earning a standing ovation that began before his final model made her runway exit.
Trapeze and cocoon shapes in dresses and coats have left the prevalent form-fitting body silhouette behind, even making it look a bit dated.
Experimenting with this free-flowing outline were BCBG, Narciso Rodriguez and Mora of J. Crew, a favorite of Michelle Obama and her daughters.
"You want to do something that feels new, and this is it," said Mora about his stepped-up jackets, coats and dresses that "hang off the body and away from it. They don't collapse into it."
The omnipresent leggings, jeggings and skinny jeans of recent seasons are so popular that the narrow, tubular cigarette pant of the 1950s is back, but with a twist: It's the streamlined bottom of new pantsuits. It's worn under tunics for daytime and evening. And it steps out of full ball-gown skirts that are open in the front.
American designers have borrowed this high-fashion item from Raf Simons' recent Paris collection for Christian Dior. Still, endorsing the pants were Carmen Marc Valvo, Jason Wu and Diane von Furstenberg.
Designers also have decided that a garment should be exciting coming and going. Next season the drama, often, is in the back, as demonstrated by Ruffian, Tadashi Shoji and Naeem Khan.
The backs of dresses, blouses, coats, jackets and evening wear are draped, gathered, voluminously pleated and sometimes ballooned.

The most important directive of the season is extravagant textiles, leather and fur.
Many designers - including Thakoon, Alexander Wang, St. John, Rucci, Adeam, Academy of Art, Prabal Gurung for ICB, Badgley Mischka, Dennis Basso - must be oblivious to the controversy over fur. Catwalk after catwalk was frothing with sable, mink, chinchilla, fox,Clearance of Canada Goose Snow Mantra Parka is very popular in the our online store. lynx, lapin, broadtail and pony skin.
While many furs in coats, jackets and trenches were colored as nature intended, the most exciting ones were dyed in pale peach, chartreuse, blue and moss.
And if it wasn't full-on fur, it was a detail or a trim such as on a sweater collar, a sleeve cuff, the border of a dress neckline or hemline, a bib over a garment, the back of a vest or a treatment across the shoulders.
The flamboyant Basso, who pitches his budget-priced line on QVC, celebrated 30 years of success at his high-priced, high-fashion show. It was a tour de force inspired by his clientele of socialite icons such as Ivana Trump, Diana Ross, Liza Minnelli and Joan Rivers, who sat in the front row.
Again and again Basso combined more than one fur - or more than just fur - in a single coat, mixing mink and sable with alligator or chinchilla with lynx. He even sent out a slate-blue mink trapeze dress.
Another of nature's materials shared the spotlight with fur: leather. There was lots of it thanks to Belstaff, Altuzarra, Phillip Lim, Michael Kors, Nicole Miller and Derek Lam.
Soft and supple, these high-quality skins are worked like velvet or crepe de chine, resulting in exquisitely draped garments and others that were structured for dresses, pants, jackets and coats. It also was mixed with delicate fabrics such as silk and chiffon for a tough and tender aesthetic. The new dark colors also give leather a renewed versatility after decades of sinister black.
The consumer hungry for glamorous glitter and glitz will be satisfied via dazzling crystals, flashing sequins, metallic threads and twinkling stones.
